The Mamacita Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Suva is excited to be part of this year’s Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.

The restaurant yesterday hosted the 13 Queen contestants of the Vodafone Hibiscus Festival to lunch at Damodar City, Laucala Bay.

Restaurant sales and marketing manager Lorisa Naidu said they joined the festival because proceeds would help members of the public.

“We were very proud to have them on board. We thought it would be good because it’s for a charitable cause,” Ms Naidu said.

The contestants enjoyed a variety of Indian and Mexican dishes.

They were given a tour of the Damodar City complex by Damodar Group chief executive officer, Div Damodar.

During the tour, the contestants served lunch to children from St Christopher’s Home.

Mr Damodar said they were excited to partner with the Hibiscus Events Group, and promised more help next year.

Damodar Events Cinemas and Village Six cinemas are official ticket bearers for the festival.
