$2.5m Extension Plans For Cloud 9

The renowned Cloud 9 located just on the Roro Reef off Malolo Island in the Mamanucas, which floats on our spectacular turquoise waters, is expected to undergo some major extension.

The owners are expecting to add another platform within the next 12 months with an investment of $2.5 million.

The eatery currently situated on a two-level platform, can be reached by a 40 minute speedboat ride from Port Denarau Marina or a 10-minute speedboat ride from Musket Cove Island Resort.

Public Relations manager and host on board Seni Tikoilomaloma said since its opening in 2013, Cloud 9 has been a hit with its own niche market.

“Yes, we have plans to upgrade another addition to Cloud 9 with glass bottom in the next 12 months,” she confirmed.

“Business is increasing mostly through sales of word-of-mouth and booking via Excitor Fiji from Denarau.”

Ms Tikoilomaloma said guests from most of the hotels in Nadi and along the Coral Coast have come out to enjoy what Cloud 9 offers.

Support

Cloud 9 has been enjoying great support from patron in terms of coming on board.

Ms Tikoilomaloma said they have received good support system and assistance from Plantation Island Resort, Musket Cove Island Resort, Port Denarau Marina and local villagers.

The establishment has reciprocated through building a new solar system for Solevu Village and is proud to be supporting the Mamanuca Environmental Society (MES).

Addressing pollution

There were alleged issues of pollution since opening but this was later taken care of.

“We had a few challenges in the beginning but have addressed this as we dispose waste through the tank regularly,” she said.

“We have also addressed this issue by bringing in a new waste tank on board where we pump the waste in and dispose it at the waste tank located in Castaway Island Resort.  We keep our rubbish on board and transfer it to mainland once a week.”

Currently on site

Cloud 9 is Fiji’s only two level floating platforms with an internationally-stocked bar and Italian wood-fired pizzeria surrounded by turquoise water and picturesque views.

Ms Tikoilomaloma said this unique venue has surround sound system throughout, sun decks, hanging chairs and day beds.

“Cloud 9 is built with precision and creativity giving you an experience like no other!” she said.

It can also be hired for location weddings or corporate events with a twist.
