Bail Revoked For Three

High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe yesterday revoked the bail previously granted to three people charged with sedition and inciting communal antagonism.

The High Court in Lautoka made this decision following the review of the application by the State to revoke the bail.

The State requested the bail to be revoked because of the seriousness of the charges and the ongoing investigations.

Timoci Nagata, Pita Vakatawa and Saimoni Nacolawa were granted bail on Monday by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.

The State then filed an application to the High Court for a review of the Magistrates Court’s decision to grant bail.

The High Court has revoked the bail and ordered the three men to be remanded in custody.

The trio, who were present in court on this matter, will now reappear at the Lautoka Magistrates Court for mention on August 17.
