Death in Nabua Cell Starts Probe

A deaths register has been opened as Police investigations continue concerning the death of a man who was in custody at the Nabua Police Station on Tuesday.
This is part of an investigation process that has to be carried out to identify how the victim died under the circumstances.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that all findings from the alleged suicide investigation would be sent to a resident Magistrate later for an official inquest.
The victim allegedly took his own life by hanging himself inside the cell.
Police have also confirmed that they have followed all necessary investigation procedures by bringing in a Magistrate to confirm that the alleged suicide actually took place before the Police forensics team began their investigation.
