Office Probes ‘Separate State’ Involvement

The office of the Nadroga-Navosa Provincial Council is conducting its own investigations surrounding allegations of the forming of a separate Sate in the Western Division.
Roko Tui Nadroga Viliame Seuseu confirmed yesterday that they had heard rumours about a group in the province which was involved in the act.
He confirmed that members of the group were not from the province.
As a precautionary measure, he had told the headmen (turaga-ni-koro) and district representatives (mata ni tikina) to conduct their investigations and send their reports to the provincial council office. Mr Seuseu said he would forward the report to the Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs, Savenaca Kaunisela.
When contacted yesterday, Mr Kaunisela said he was not aware of what was happening in Nadroga.
