More than 50 Hope Preschool students of Suvavou Village visited the National Fire Authority (NFA) Suva Station on Wednesday.
Hope Preschool co-ordinator Ilisapeci Tuilau said: “They have to learn how to protect themselves from fire.
“We visit NFA every year so that children can be aware of fire safety and when they go home, they know the dangers of matches and take safety precautions.
“I advise the children that if they find a box of matches lying around, they should take it to their mother so she can put it in a safe place,” she said.
A parent Tadeo Vulaca said, “Students should learn about fire safety while they are still at pre-school and in future, they will know what precautions to be taken.”
