LEADERS TALK: What Are Issues You’d Like Addressed At The Business Forum?

Today is a great opportunity for businesses and the private sectors to bring their ideas together at the Fiji Business Forum.
Organised by the Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry and hosted by the Suva Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the forum will include participation by all chambers around the country.
The Forum will also serve as a platform for businesses to contribute towards discussions for the 2016 National Budget Submission.
This year, whether members are participating in the forum or not, they will be given the opportunity to send in their questions on a particular platform by texting.
Following on from the past week, Sun Business again asked business leaders what issues they would like seen addressed at the forum.
The forum is held at the Grand Pacific Hotel and starts at 9am.
Around 150 to 200 delegates are expected to attend the event which has resumed after a lapse of one year.
Div Damodar, Damodar Group, Cheif Executive
They should focus more on local investors because at the moment local investors are the ones driving the economic growth. I would like the forum to facilitate the issues that some of the investors have faced. Generally I would say they should focus more on local investors than the foreign investors. Foreign investors are good but local investors are the key drivers of the economy.
Jason Chandra, Credit Corporation (Fiji) Limited, General Manager Lending
I would like to see the private sector being more forthcoming with their views on what they think should be included in the 2016 National Budget and simultaneously how they can contribute towards the further enhancement of the economy. Also, I enthusiastically look forward to constructive discussions between policy makers and regulators on pressing business issues.
