Eager To Play

Kadavu aims to improve on their performance from last year during the Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby competition which starts at the ANZ Stadium, Suva tomorrow.

Team manager Iliesa Lewatiakana said only a few schools in Kadavu were representing the team.

“A few schools are representing the whole of Kadavu province this year,” Lewatiakana said.

“But preparations have been going on really well and we are just eager to play.

“Last year, we finished third overall, but this year we would like to improve our performance.

“What we are trying to do is to expose our players by taking part. They are excited about the tournament and they cannot wait to get out there.

“This is something new to them and they are handling it well. The competition will be quite exciting and tough and the coaches and teachers are really doing their best to make sure that they are ready to perform on the day.”

The team is camping at Marcellin Primary School.

“There are some big schools in Viti Levu and also some other island schools who  will prove to be a tough challenge for us, but we welcome that.”
