Lomaiviti will not return home empty handed from the Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby tournament which starts tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Former coach and current tour manager Luke Vateitei said they had a good run last year but they were more eager to achieve more this year.

“We are well prepared and this is the first time that Lomaiviti comes together in the U13 and U14 grades,” Vateitei said.

“We have goals and all the teams have that mission to win. We don’t want to leave her empty handed.

“Last year all our grades reached the quarterfinals and a few of them reached the semifinals and our U14 reached the final and so this year we want to do better than that.

“Our boys have been together since the U9 and we are trying to improve and progress as a team. We need to take it a step up from what we did last year.”

Going up against tough teams will be their biggest hurdle but Vatiti said they would not underestimate any teams and take it a game at a time.

“We respect all the teams and we will try to do our best,” he said.

“Our boys know what to expect in such a tournament and we are looking forward to our first game.

“But to the Lomaiviti fans, I know most of them will be there and backing the team up. We need their prayers and hopefully we come home with something.”
