The Suva Whites Under-10 rugby team is ready for the Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby tournament tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Suva Whites president Malakai Tueli said their main mission going into this competition was to win.

“We are well prepared for the tournament, we had our last training session last Saturday and the boys are fully aware on what needs to be done,” Tueli said.

“We have told the boys that they need to treat every game like a final because we want to fulfil our mission, which is to win the tournament.

“We are not accepting anything less than winning; all of our preparations have been centred on winning this tournament.”

While the aim is to win the tournament, Tueli said the boys would also be focusing on personal development.

“The boys know that their friends and parents will be watching them and we want them to achieve personal growth as well while out on the field,” he said.

“So they have set personal targets and this can be anything from improving on the way they play on the field to changing their outlook and attitude on and off the field.”

Being the winners of the U9 grade last year, Tueli said they want to be consistent but it will be tough with the new teams have joined the competition.

“Serua and Nasinu are two good teams. We played Nasinu before and know what to expect but at the same time we are aware of all our opponents.

“We know all the teams are in Suva right now and we have been doing our assessment of others teams so we know what to expect.

“The new teams in the competition will be the ones to watch but at the same time the inclusion of teams from the islands will make competition tough and strong.” he said.

The Suva Whites  play Serua at 1.50pm and Nasinu at 3pm at the ANZ Stadium, Suva tomorrow.
