The contestants, in a visit to the Suva Corrections Centre praised the programme objectives and the transformation they saw in the inmates.

Miss Fulton Hogan Hiways Arishma Prasad was very emotional because it was the first time she had visited the centre.

“It is a great journey for us because we actually don’t know what happens around the centre especially with the lady inmates.

“What they are learning and doing, they are very punctual, and time management, Ms Prasad said.

The 21-year old Fiji National University student was impressed with the discipline of the inmates.

“We can learn from them, how they are well organised, how they use their time wisely because nowadays time management is very important.

“Seeing them is very emotional because we know how they miss their family so much but they also doing a good job by learning how to sew, cook and other things,” she said.

13 Queen and King Contestants toured the Corrections centre as part of their community visit.

Mr Cal Valley Solar Kusitino Tabaiwalu was optimistic about a brighter future for the inmates.

“We the public, view these people, especially the young people, as the law-breakers but after seeing and talking to them they’re are not what we know as bad people, it’s just some wrong decision that landed them inside,” Mr Tabaiwalu said.

“Thanks to Yellow Ribbon this people can have their norma lives back so it’s good to see that they’re learning a lot of things inside the centre.
