Assemblies Of God Women Meet

Close to 2000 women from the central and maritime divisions of the Assemblies of God church gathered at the Calvary Temple in Suva yesterday for a day rally.

The rally was part of the church’s divisional conference that was opened at the Central Christian Centre in Nausori last night.

The church’s National Women’s Ministry president, Kolofiu Cakau, said the women were fortunate to have three speakers talking on three different topics.

The three speakers included Dr Seru Rokosawa, Sereana Qoro and Elenoa Nimacere. They spoke on character development, the kingdom principles and the development of women on the home front.

“The main aim of the summit is to create awareness and to help develop the women in a holistic approach not only spiritually but in other aspects of a woman’s life,” Mrs Cakau said.

“It will benefit the women in the home front first. They know that in these hard times we scout around for money and we look around for things to help us and our families but after this when these women go home they will have an idea that behind their backyards or the use of their hands they can utilise they can gain wealth to support their families.”

She said the women ministry played a vital role in the church.

“I believe that the men are the head of the church but the women are the heart and also the manager of the homes,” she said.

“When the homes are managed well that flows into the church and into the nation as a whole as well.”

Women from Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti were part of the rally.
