AVIS and the Fiji International have signed another year’s partnership for AVIS to be the Official Car Rental Sponsor of the International professional golf tournament to be hosted at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course from October 15 – 18 this year.

The signing comes less than a week following the announcement of top twenty United States golf star, Matt Kuchar, confirming his participation in the Fiji International 2015.

“AVIS Fiji has enjoyed a great relationship with the Fiji International since its inaugural event in 2014. We feel the Fiji International provides AVIS not only with an opportunity to be associated to the nation’s biggest sporting event but also a fantastic platform for international and domestic brand exposure,” Jai Kumar, Asco Motors Fiji chief executive officer said.

“AVIS has a big roster of sports relationships and our continued partnership with the Fiji international highlights the importance of the sport and the incremental value we receive reaching its loyal fan base.”

Matt Porm, Head of Commercial for the Fiji International, said: “We are extremely pleased to know that our association with AVIS will continue for another year.

“AVIS has been a great partner in providing the Fiji International with our fleet of vehicles as well as facilitating preferred rates for our participating golf professionals, volunteers and other members of the.”

Mr Porm adds: “AVIS has been a generous supporter of the tournament and has played a role in raising the event’s stature to the high level the Fiji International golf tournament enjoys today.”

About the Fiji International

To be played at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course from 15-18 October, the Fiji International will be broadcast around the world. The Fiji International is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia and will be played for a minimum prize purse of $1 million.

The inaugural Fiji International signalled Fiji’s official arrival onto the world golfing stage with the Fijian Government, Fiji Tourism and Fiji’s number one golf ambassador, Vijay Singh, all making a push to put their country on the lucrative world golfing map.

In 2015 the Fiji International is expected to grow with the tournament establishing a reputation amongst the world’s best golfers as a must attend event for themselves and their families.

The tournament also boosts some of the most unique hospitality options in world golf with the par-3 4th hole providing the perfect vantage point to watch the golf whilst socialising on the beach.

More than just a golf tournament the Fiji International aims to leave a lasting legacy for golf in the Pacific with the PGA of Australia supporting initiatives to introduce and grow the game in Fiji.
