AD Patel College girls team defeated Kamil Muslim College 2-1 to win the 2015 Vodafone Fijian Secondary School soccer championship at Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

Head coach Pranil Singh said even though they had a late start he was impressed the girls were able to make a strong comeback.

“We had a bit of late start in the first half of the game but teamwork and our tight defence is what made us win today (yesterday).

“This is a back-to-back win for us and I am so happy with what the girls have achieved this year.

“We will come back stronger next year and we guarantee that we will win again,” Singh said.

Kamil scored first on the scoreboard with their lone goal in the opening minutes of the second half while AD Patel regrouped well and saw national rep Luisa Tamanitokula striking a double for her side.

Kamil coach Sereana Nabitu said the girls were developing.

“This is a developing stage for our girls, they have done their best and we are happy with what they have achieved so far.

“AD Patel has always been a tough team to beat and we are so fortunate to reach this stage. We will come back stronger next year, she said.
