A woman was killed instantly yesterday when this bus “veered off the road” and mowed down a power post on the Queens Highway near Makosoi, Pacific Harbour.
Retired school teacher Teresia Makosoi Rounds, 64, died on impact. She was caught between the mangled wreck and damaged power pole. The bus was carrying students from Serua, teachers and officials returning home from the Rewa Galaxy Kaji Rugby competition in Suva.
Team manager Peter Amputch, while attempting to rescue the students, suffered an electric shock. He  is being treated at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, along with a woman and a student who each suffered a broken leg.
