It was exciting moment for Miss Suva City Council, Sarah Vamarasi when she was named the 2015 Vodafone Hibiscus Miss Charity.

She was crowned by the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, after raising $21,281 during this Hibiscus Festoival.

“I’m really excited and thankful to many people and I thank God without whom, I would not have been here,” an elated Ms Vamarasi said.

“I also thank my family for organising a fundraising for charity but, most importantly to the hardworking staff of Suva City Council.

“I’m so blessed to have been Miss Suva City Council this year,” she said.

“I would like to dedicate this win to the staff of Suva City Council who helped in fundraising for every single cent.

“The money will go to the Hibiscus committee and from there they will distribute to the funds.

“They will decide which organisations need the money and also the amount that will be allocated to the oragnisation.”

The President, Ratu Epeli, said: “Part of your participation as contestants in the queen’s category means that you need to do fundraising which goes into Vodafone Hibiscus Charity.

“The money raised is then distributed to many worthy and needy associations and organisations in our community.”
