Six-Year-Old with Half-A-Heart Achieves Dream of Becoming a Wrestler

Lincoln: In the wrestling ring, six-year-old Aiden Byrne holds his belt in the air with pride, his face beaming.
He has just managed to floor a wrestler three times his size – something his mother Charmaine never thought she would see.
Aiden was born with his heart only half-formed, upside down and on the wrong side of his body.
His condition means he could die at any time.
The brave youngster has undergone heart surgery six times in just six months and still struggles with complications as a result of his condition.
He is forced to take a cocktail of eight drugs every morning and has never managed to attend school for more than three days in a row.
But now he has achieved his dream of fighting in the ring and has even been awarded with a championship belt.
Ms Byrne, 26, said: “He absolutely loves wrestling but we never thought he would be well enough to enjoy it.
“We were given tickets to a local show and since then he has been completely obsessed by it.
‘The wrestlers have helped us raise loads of money to raise awareness of children’s heart charities and they’ve even allowed him in the ring.
“He’s actually got his own belt and I believe he is some sort of UK champion. The guys at the wrestling academy are brilliant with him. He’s one of the lads there now.”
