In bid to promote health and wellness, Colgate Palmolive (Fiji) Limited and CJ Patel Group in conjunction with the Ministry for Health provided free medical health check-ups for their staff in Lami yesterday.

Colgate Palmolive retail manager Sumnasafu Pauriasi said:  “These are medical and dental checks organised by Colgate Palmolive and are part of our health and wellness campaign.

“We have also included our neighbours in the same complex CJ Patel and Nestle to participate in this campaign,” she said.

“Having a medical check and dental check is important for everyone. There is also cholesterol check, blood pressure, sugar (diabetes check) and dental. It is good for anyone for them to find out their health status.

“We should take advantage of these free checks especially for work places because we are very busy,” she said.

Acting divisional dental officer eastern Dr Manoa Tawakevou said: “I would like to thank the CJ Patel Group.

“This is one of the Government’s strategies for 2016 known as Wellness Approach. Wellness means to know and look at or take care of our people,” he said.

“This is the proactive thing the Government is doing especially for big corporate companies and especially for working people who don’t have time to get checked-up.”
