Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA).

The Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA), yesterday said amateur boxing, which is under AIBA Boxing, will be governed by the AIBA rules and regulations.

In Fiji, participation in any professional promotions, whether as an athlete or otherwise, by any amateur athlete, coach or official, will result in that athlete, coach or official being banned from all future AIBA Boxing competitions in Fiji.

Particularly in reference to athletes, FABA must be clear in stating that once an athlete participates in a professional bout, that athlete’s days as an AIBA Boxing athlete have come to an end.

FABA is the AIBA designated and recognised body in Fiji which is charged with the task of developing and administering the sport of AIBA Boxing. Part of FABA’s role in its position as AIBA’s representative is ensuring that all AIBA rules and regulations are followed by all AIBA Boxing athletes, coaches and officials.

FABA recommends that all interested parties visit the AIBA website at www.aiba.org.
