Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach John McKee says fitness is not a worry for his boys.

“The effort of the players has really improved since last week and they are fine to travel next week.

“We have been working really hard and there has been great excitement in the boys in camp,” McKee said.

“Today (yesterday), compared to the similar session last week, the boys have much more capacity to handle the tough work and so there has been good progression.

He said the side will cover a few more areas before departing on Monday.

“We will probably do one more session like this tomorrow (today) before we play the opening match against Canada. The boys are a bit tired now because of the hard training these past weeks.

“Tomorrow (today) will be having a cross-training fitness session combining a bit of fun and teambuilding with the fitness. The team will be in the gym.

“The scrum work is been excellent this week and I have seen a real lift there on how the scrums are operated. They have been working on how to hold the pressure and the how to shape everything up.

“Our lineout as well looks sharper but we still need to work out on the tummy a little bit.

McKee was also happy with the senior players who have been helping out in the team.
