Chief in Ra says all is well in the province despite the worrying activities.

A chief in Ra says all is well in the province despite the worrying activities surrounding Rabulu Village.

The concern was raised last week during a meeting between chiefs in Rakiraki, Ra, but the Roko Tui Ra, Mosese Nakoroi, said everything was calm in the province and all chiefs there support the Police investigation and the search for weapons by the military.

But since the village was part of the district, the chiefs had agreed that the villagers should be told not to carry on with their beliefs in the 12 tribes of Israel and the formation of a Christian State.

“A group of people from Rabulu were allegedly carrying out some kind of military training up in the hills of Ra,” he said.

At least 70 people have appeared in court and are being charged with sedition and urging political violence.

Mr Nakoroi reaffirmed they do not support the formation of a Christian State.

The chiefs, he said, had asked the Commissioner Western Office to visit the village and talk to them.
