The owners of Coralview Island Resort have taken their company into a new phase – investing in a restaurant.

The restaurant, U Gotta Eat Hia, opened in Northern Club in Lautoka City (near the court house) a week ago.

Director Don Bruce said they invested close to $80,000 with all the equipment and the refurbishing of the restaurant.

He said it was very important for the company to refurbish the cafeteria so that it looked presentable, hygienic and setting up that standard.

The eatery also boasts a small coffee shop that sells snacks, cakes, smoothies and drinks.

Supplies

All the meat supplied to the restaurant comes from the company’s own farm.

“We have a range of pigs, ducks and chicken. We have a big cage but it’s like an open playground,” he said.

“We also have Talapia as we got two ponds and we supply our own fish. Most of the time they catch Walu.”

Mr Bruce has been operating the resort for the past 25 years and from experience says they will be able to save costs with supplies coming from their own subsidiaries.
