End of government?

Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Canada.

With all due respect to my Christian brother and OB, Honourable Semesa Karavaki, his comment that the current FijiFirst government was coming to an end is just wishful thinking.

The recent general election was a landslide victory for the FijiFirst party, which means the majority of the Fijian voters cast their one vote in support of the Bainimarama led Government.

I believe that all Fijians including the SODELPA supporters and those living overseas had prayed for God’s will to be done in choosing the best political party to move Fiji forward to a new dawn.

I firmly believe that our current Government is the will of the people and the will of God.

If God has His blessing on a Government that wants Fiji to be a secular state, where all its people and religion are on a level playing field, then it would be inconsistent of God to give a message that is contrary to His will.

Trying to set up a Christian state is working against God’s will.

If the laws and decisions made by Government forced people to turn against God and act contrary to His divine moral law, only then can we agree with the Honorable Parliamentarian that the end of government is near but at the next general election.

Judging by the split and in-house fighting among the SODELPA parliamentarians, when we point the finger, remember three are pointing back at you.

Right now, we the majority are being blessed and enjoy the freedom and goodies made available by the current Government and we all pray for the current struggles and hardships to be ironed out in the near future.

Police back pay

Arun Prasad, Nausori

Finally, the long standing dispute of Police back pay has been resolved.

I can see two issues regarding the non-payment.

One, there are some incompetent officers who were entrusted with the disbursement.

Two, there are some very competent officers, competent in diverting funds and shedding responsibilities.

If I recall correctly, the same Job Ealuation Exercise also made many recommendations to uplift the staus of the teachers and correct the remuneration anomaly.

Can someone step in to assist the teachers as well!

Naiqama non-sense

Tukai Lagonilakeba, Namaka

Yes, our PM has just nailed it home and he is correct August 27; “They must in no uncertain way not be allowed to succeed in their attempts to challenge our democracy to enforce their own will on our nation” and rightly said.

The FijiFirst Government has been tasked by all right thinking majority Fijians to uphold the integrity of our democracy from rogue elements in our society who will want to create instability in our midst to damage our economy.

The Tui Cakau and suspended opposition member Ratu Naiqama has now finally put to rest our suspicion.

The Fiji Indigenous Tribal Congress headed by the maverick Niko Nawaikula is a useless and toothless institution which includes members of only the SODELPA party and is only used to further their political agenda and mileage to only benefit the office bearers.

Like Oni Kirwan, who was seen courting Ratu Naiqama with Chaudhry Junior in his latest visit to Australia, they  will only use those forums as an opportunity to derive as much benefits as they can.

But there is nothing to benefit the iTaukei who are all regrettably being held remanded at the Natabua holding cell and I agree they must all face the Law.

Never heard of Rabuka, Qarase, Chaudhry senior, Tupeni Baba, Mick Beddos, Lavenia Padarath and Felix Anthony, these are former and current political party heavyweights but none of them have ever come out openly in public condemning recent events.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, many chiefs have and are still serving their sentences, some former corrupt PM have also been convicted and penalised, but there are others unrepentant who are still roaming freely, it won’t be long.

Get it right Ratu Naiqama, there will no be more be any money and time wasting GCC that is past but how can the ones like you contribute more constructively to nation building?
