The victim of the Kinoya knifing incident, Karishma Lal is now recovering at her home in Kaloa Street, Kinoya.

Mrs Lal, an Assistant Accountant at Rentokil Initial Fiji, was allegedly knifed last month by her late husband, Johit Prasad who was also the national sales manager for Rentokil. Their two children, Jeralle Ishav, 3 and Tanvi Prasad, 5 were also alleged to have been hung to death by their father before he committed suicide at their Kinoya home.

Mrs Lal spent close to a month in the Colonial War Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She was discharged last Tuesday.

Her mother, Maya Wati said she was glad her daughter had recovered despite the injuries she sustained from the incident.

“I am happy that she is recovering now but she has not spoken to us about what happened,” Mrs Wati said.

She said her daughter has still not spoken to them or even questioned about her children and husband ever since she was discharged from hospital.

“She is eating a little bit and still not talking.”

When a Fiji Sun team visited their Kinoya home on Monday, a nurse was treating Mrs Lal’s wound while she lay on a mattress in their living room. Her body was covered with a blanket with only her face showing.
