A SODELPA setup

Tukai Lagonilakeba, Namaka

Unpopular coup maker Sitiveni Rabuka’s inclusion and nomination to the SODELPA Party Vice presidents post was done to intimidate the SODELPA Women’s wing and Ro Teimumu.

It may be a deliberate technical attempt by Ratu Naiqama to upset and unseat the Marama Roko Tui Dreketi.

Last week in one of my letters I wrote that it has now come to roost that the differences within the SODELPA armour is now between these two factions.

They have ganged up accordingly, Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata and Matanitu Burebasaga.

Why bring in Rabuka in the last minute?. It is to consolidate the above fact and to push through the CBM agenda with their political ploy.

Stand your ground women members of SODELPA and support Ro Teimumu. Meanwhile in the F/S  September 1, it reported Adi Litia Qionibaravi’s admittance that some chiefs ignored legal advice and signed the Oni Kirwan document.

Does she have a copy of the Kirwan Document, who’s legal advice did the chiefs ignore and why did Adi Litia not report the illegal activity to the relevant authorities at the time? Where was the meeting held? Was it Political and did they have a permit?.

Business in Parliament has closed its doors for the year, it means more time for our Government to visit and implement their policies to all Fijians, the lesser the time spent in parliament the better it is, it has become the laughing Samoans to our young viewers.

Church membership

Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Surrey, BC, Canada

I agree with Simeli Lawedrau’s sentiments, that he does not want the Methodist Church in Fiji to continue to decline in church membership in the coming years.

I believe that this same sentiment applies to all Christian churches, as one major sign of a dying church is the depletion of its membership.

Lest we forget, the Bible teaches that in these last days “wisdom will increase” and in its immediate context- people will have easy access to the Bible and understanding and choosing “Thus said the Lord” over unscriptural teachings.

At the end of the day, we will all be divided into two groups, those who are “in Christ” and those who are not.

Those who are in Christ at the end of time will be tested and only those who choose not to worship the beast nor have its mark in the hand or forehead will be saved.

What does the Bible teach regarding those who are in Christ but do not receive the wrath of God nor the mark of the beast?

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” (Rev.14:12)

Heaven is calling Christians and the world to come out of Babylon (false teachings) and through the transforming and empowering spirit of God, to love Christ and keep His commandments, including the one that begins with the words: “Remember…”

This would be one reason that would explain the decline in church membership that is happening now and into the future.

Safety Tips

Jason Verma, Wailoku

Reading the article in the newspapers “family calls of search” and the content of the article saying the brother has exhausted the savings, he did what he could but what I fail to understand is why the people do not heed to the safety tips or use the safety equipment that could save lives.

Every now and then we read and see on the news someone has died in the water or died while crossing the road.

Life is precious and must be preserved at any cost and this will involve the choices made by us when leaving home for any adventure, whether it be fishing, swimming, hunting or just driving.

Remember there is nothing called accident unless it’s a natural disaster, someone is always at fault what we call accident and sometimes its sheer carelessness.
