Papua New Guinea will sign the Pacific Islands Development Forum Charter early.  This is because its Minister for Public Enterprise  Ben Micah will leave before Friday when the rest will sign.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola confirmed  this yesterday.

“He leaves the country on Thursday after chairing the committee of Wednesday,” he said.

However, he confirmed that Mr Micah had given his support to the declaration and would sign it before he left for PNG  tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Ratu Inoke confirmed he would be attending the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) with the Acting Permanent Secretary, Esala Nayasi, in Port Moresby on September 7-11.

He said Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama would not be attending the PIF leaders meeting.
