Reddy Curbs Voucher Abuse

Different colour codes will now be used for bus fare vouchers to avoid abuse, says the Minister for Education Mahendra Reddy.

According to Mr Reddy, a lot of students had been caught selling bus fare vouchers.

“We want to curb the abuse of bus fare voucher by making different color code vouchers for each month and in this way students won’t have to sell or use or even claim these bus fare vouchers from bus drivers,” he said.

“Some students have the habit of not going to school and selling their one week old bus fare vouchers to others,” he said.

“Students are to go to school every day because that was the whole reason for having bus fare vouchers and if they don’t go to school then they should return the vouchers to the teachers,” he said.

Mr Reddy said they were working on putting a date on the new bus fare vouchers so that each voucher was eligible for that certain date only,” he said.

“We will also be working on making different vouchers for different routes so it’s easier for teachers to print and distribute to students,” he said.
