Jerry Dinati did not give up his dreams of becoming a lawyer during his eight years of study.

He faced a lot of difficulties including the death of his father during the period.

He was among 18 new lawyers who were  admitted to the Bar as a legal practitioner by Chief Justice Gates at the High Court in Suva this week.

“I am the only boy in the family and today I believe my hard work has finally paid off,” Mr Dinati said.

“It took me eight years to finish my studies because I always side tracked from my dreams because I followed my peer groups.

“I also drove vans at times to help me pay for my studies,” he said.

Mr Dinati is from Vaturua, Nakelo, in Tailevu.

He attained a Bachelor of Law and Professional Diploma in Legal Practitioner from University of Fiji.

“My dad was a soldier and he passed away a while ago while my mum was away in Papua New Guinea working.

“I encourage young people to dream big and to never give up because you will help people in your life who will assist you achieve what you need.”
