Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) celebrated their 2015 Coke Zero Deans Under-18 rugby team victory with families, friends and old scholars in Korovou, Tailevu yesterday.
Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime and National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu, who was the chief guest at the celebration, thanked the players for the momentous win and making the old scholars very proud.
Seruiratu, who is the former student of RKS ,thank the players for their gallant performance.
“After winning the Deans Trophy this year, you have showed us all what Lodoni is known for in sports and also academically,” Seruiratu said.
RKS claimed the Deans victory and made history after beating Marist Brothers High School 8-5 in the Coke Zero Deans final last month.
“Now as we celebrate, I hope that we’ll all be preparing for next year game. For some of the boys this is their last year and I wish you well in your future endeavors; this should not be the end of your rugby carrier.
“You must strive, seek, and find but not to yield and always aim for higher goals. To the Under-17 who’ll be playing in the Under-18 grade next year, the Deans trophy should remain in Lodoni,” Seruiratu said.
The team earlier had started their celebration during a march from Lelean Memorial School to Nausori town last Friday afternoon. Old students from Queen Victoria School and Adi Cakobau School were also present during the celebration.
