Today will be one of the worst Father’s Day for me, says Rakesh Kumar.
Mr Kumar could only say this following the death of his son, Ayush Kumar last week.
Ayush was among the three primary school students that allegedly committed suicide in Vatuwaqa.
His son was cremated at the Vatuwaqa Cemetery yesterday.
Mr Kumar said all he could do now was to reminisce on last year’s Fathers Day.
“We used to celebrate this day altogether at home but tomorrow will be the worst and I will miss him,” he said.
“I never once thought that he will leave me so soon. I had big plans for us to migrate to New Zealand but now it is something that I will later decide on.”
Mr Kumar described his son as his everything.
“I had expectations of him; he was always humble, quiet and very generous.”
Close to a hundred relatives and friends of the family gathered at their home in Nadawa, Nasinu, yesterday to farewell Ayush.
