5 MPs Before Board In Sodelpa Inquiry

Five SODELPA MPs appeared before the party’s management board yesterday as the inquiry into a confidential report began in Suva.

Lawyer  and MP Mosese Bulitavu was called first in what was supposed to be individual appearances.

But the rest, Semesa Karavaki, Ro Kiniviliame Kiliraki, Mikaele Leawere and Aseri Radrodro decided they should all go as a group.

Mr Bulitavu had originally called for the inquiry after the exposure of the report, which is critical of Opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa’s leadership and the governance of the Opposition Office. The report calls for Ro Teimumu and Mick Beddoes, the Opposition Office principal administrative officer, to step down. Mr Bulitavu and the other four MPs wrote a letter asking for an inquiry.

Mr Beddoes then filed a counter complaint against Mr Bulitavu.

Four members of the management board, Anare Jale (chairperson), Losena Salabula, Kelemedi Naidiri and Ratu Sikeli Komaisavai, heard the MPs’ submission. They also asked questions.

Ro Teimumu was also supposed to appear. But it could not be confirmed whether she did. The inquiry is expected to be completed before the October SODELPA meeting.
