Vodafone Fiji Limited donated the $100,000 cheque for the Vodafone Flying Fijians to Fiji Rugby Union yesterday.

The additional cash support of $100,000 was a special incentive payment to the Flying Fijians team for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and is on top of the existing sponsorship arrangement between FRU and the consortium of sponsors.

FRU chief executive officer Radrodro Tabualevu was grateful for the support.

“This will be morale booster for the players before we play England and FRU is grateful for this timely support,” Tabualevu said.

Three weeks ago Vodafone committed $10 from the sale of every `Alcatel pixie” range of mobile phones towards our Rugby World Cup 2015 campaign.

They also opened up their M-PAiSA mobile money platform for members of the public and fans of Fiji rugby to make a donation towards the team’s world cup campaign.

Funds raised will go towards catering for the welfare of the players.
