SODELPA President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu wanted to resign from politics after Sitiveni Rabuka was not accepted into the party during last year’s general elections.

He admitted this while speaking to more than 100 people attending the SODELPA special general meeting at Epworth Hall in Suva yesterday.

According to Ratu Naiqama, Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa’s words motivated him to come back.

“The Roko Tui Dreketi said to me, Kubuna is now gone and if you leave too, what will happen to me, I am a woman and this is a man’s responsibility,” Ratu Naiqama said.

PUBLIC APOLOGY

Ratu Naiqama also apologised to SODELPA delegates who were hurt by his words that resulted in him being suspended from Parliament.

He also apologised to those who were related to the Speaker of Parliament, Doctor Jiko Luveni.

Ratu Naiqama asked the people present in the meeting if they could forgive him.
