Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) announced the top eight teams that will battle in the Vodafone Cup quarterfinals at the ANZ Stadium in Suva tomorrow.

FNRL executive chairman Filimoni Vosarogo confirmed the four teams that would be playing in the Top 8  quarterfinals.

“Burenitu Cowboys will play against Dee Cees Nadera Panthers and Makoi Bulldogs will face the Nabua Broncos who are both in the Nasinu Confederation.

“The winning two teams from these games will march on to the Top 8 semifinals against the two top teams from the West; Sabeto Roosters of Nadi and Saru Dragons of Lautoka,” Vosarogo said.

Vosarogo said this year would be a historical year for the sport because the champion of the Vodafone Cup will go head to head with the winner of the Digicel Cup from the Papua New Guinea Rugby League (PNGRL) competition that we’ll be held in Port Moresby on October 10.

“FNRL is grateful to the PNGRL for covering the expenses for the game and we’ll ensure that the same will be done to the Digicel champions next year,” Vosarogo said.
