Choose a career that is useful, in demand and needed, acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Josefa Sania, told secondary school students of Tailevu North yesterday.

He opened the 5th Tailevu North Careers Expo at Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) yesterday.

With the theme ‘Investing in Quality Education,’ Mr Sania encouraged students to think outside the box when choosing a career.

“When the going gets tough, you will need to put your career above your happiness and whatever it is you love to do,” Mr Sania said.

“This Careers Exposition should assist you students in planning for your further education and future employment. Let us vow to bring down Fiji’s unemployment rate. Some of you may be thinking of self- employment. Why not? Fiji is endowed with forest, mineral and fish resources and is one of the most developed in the Pacific island economies. You can help grow Fiji’s economy,”he said.

RKS Year 13 student, Samuela Kaloulia said Mr Sania’s message was important.

“It is advisable for young people to make choices at an early age to work towards achieving their dream career,” he said.

About seven schools from Tailevu North were part of the expo.
