A young girl’s National Library Week celebration costume was inspired by her role model, the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Dilkusha Girls School Year One student Frances Dean was dressed as the Prime Minister when he was the Navy Commander.

Frances said she had always been inspired by Mr Bainimarama after seeing him on television.

“I want to be like him in the future, join the army and also be a Minister or something,” a shy Frances said.

She was among more than 50 students from the school who were dressed in their best movie character or career costumes to celebrate the end of the National Library Week.

Another student, Timaima Saru, who was dressed as a nurse, said she wanted to be a nurse after seeing what they did in the movies.

“I want to be a nurse because they care and help the sick people,” she said.

Meanwhile, an energetic Vuci Methodist Primary School Year Two student Grezelda Romana was dressed as her favourite character, Pirate Girl, from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.

The theme for this year’s National Library Week was ‘Unlimited Possibilities at Your Library’.
