Expect another exciting rugby match when BLK Nadroga meets RC Manubhai Suva in the fourth HFC Farebrother Challenge this Saturday.

This followed Nadroga’s surviving a torrid second-half campaign by Naitasiri with a 21-14 victory at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Indiscipline cost Nadroga in the first seven minutes which saw prop Penijamini Seru sinbinned for a high tackle. Despite being down to 14 men, the Stallions showed their strengths as centre Samuela Cava penetrated the Naitasiri defence to score the first try of the match.

Two minutes later flanker Manoa Tamaya was offloaded a pass and ran to score under the post as Alivereti Veitokani was successful with the conversion and extended their lead 12-0.Veitokani kicked another penalty for Nadroga. Nadroga led 15-0 at the breather.

Nadroga was down to 14 men till full time as Penijamini Makutu was flashed a red card. Naitasiri capitalised on the opportunity which saw Alipate Buto and Nasoni Roko scoring a try each for the Hillmen in the second half while Nadroga sealed victory with two penalties in the second-half.

BLK Nadroga captain Nemani Nagusa said: “It was a tough match as in previous three matches we have played our hearts out.

“We knew they would always take us to the wire but we stood our ground as usual and we just love to retain the silverware and Suva is next.”

BLK Naitasiri captain Avisai Rinamalo acknowledged Nadroga for a tough game.

“We thank Nadroga for giving us a good game. We did not win but we tried our best especially in the second spell but they are champions.

“We have a lot of players that are tasting Fare-brother for the first time,” Rinamalo said.
