Civic, Bureta Qualify For NCC

Maciu Dunadamu scored a hatrick for the defending champions, Professional Security Civic in their 6-0 win against Pasifika Tent Combine Brothers in the Suva Football Association Local League competition at the Buckhurst Park in Suva yesterday.

Dunadamu was in top form and scored superbly to inspire the side to an emphatic win.

The star-studded Civic side with district reps, Uliasi Tamanisau, Noa Vukica, Esava Naqeleca, Rusiate Matererega and veteran Pita Rabo was in top form.

Stylish striker Matererega also scored a brace of goals in the semifinal victory.

The side defeated Port Villa 2-0 in the quarterfinal.

Civic will join All Freight Logistics Bureta in the National Club Championship (NCC) next month.

Bureta defeated South Seas Logistics Baniwai Fusion 1-0 in the other semifinal.

Suva FA local league chairman Niranjan Prasad said they are happy to nominate their two teams for the NCC.

“Quarterfinals and semifinals were tough and we are impressed with players performance.

“Civic and Bureta will again represent Suva in the NCC and we are confident that both teams will perform well,” Prasad said.
