The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is not happy with some of the Vodafone Fijian Under-23 players threatening Fiji FA for not paying the money they were promised after winning the Oceania Olympic playoff final in Papua New Guinea in July.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel made this comments while handing over certificates and prize money during the celebration at the Ba Football Academy yesterday.

Fiji FA gave a total of $35, 000 to the U23 players yesterday with each player receiving $1500.

“We have heard some rumours that some players were trying to leave the team for not paying them after winning the Olympic playoff,” Patel said.

During the presentation, Fiji FA added another $10,000 to add to their earlier promise of $25,000 reward of qualify to the Olympics in Brazil next year.

“We have stick to what we have promised to our players and we have added a little bit more to the bonus so that it fits all our U23 players.”

Patel has also promised the players of more bonuses from stage to stage towards the Olympics next year.
