Methodists of Vuo Village in Labasa are looking forward to enter their new $80,000 church early next year.

Church administrator Ura Ratoki said it would be a proud moment for them.  Mr Ratoki said the new church was being built on a new site. He said the old church, built 50 years ago, had deteriorated.

With a membership of 200, he said the old building was becoming too small for them, he added. “We are thankful to the Reverend Apenisa Rabai who now resides in Australia for funding the help so far,” Mr Ratoki said. He added that they were thankful to the village’s youth group for helping out with the carpenters. He said construction started in June and was expected to be completed early next year. “The new church is something we are determined to see through. When it’s finally completed it will open a new chapter for us,” he said.
