Government officials from Labasa will visit Naqelelevu in Taveuni today to see untapped natural resources.

The Commissioner Northern, Jovesa Vocea,  divisional planning officer Alipate Bolalevu and fisheries and forest authority’s staff will be part of the team.

Mr Vocea said: “The tour will be three days. We plan to look at untapped resources at the village itself.”

He said the visit was in response to a request from the village spokesperson Mika Loga.

“The former journalist has resigned from work and has requested for the team to come for a visit to his village and see the available resources,” he said. Mr Loga used to work for TV One.

Mr Vocea said the visit would enable the team to acquire information about the village. He said they would also  indentify resources that could generate income for the people.

“There are a lot of untapped resources which can be effectively developed and it will require changing mindset,” he said.
