International yachties are definitely enjoying the thrill of the 32nd Annual Musket Cove Regatta extravaganza at Malolo Lailai Island since Saturday.

Among the 82 participating yachts, the crew and friends of the 150-foot super yacht “SY Encore” are looking forward to the Fiji Water sponsored Malolo Classics on Wednesday.

This was after the super yacht scooped the first race of the 2015 season – the Vodafone Musket Cove to Beachcomber Pirates Day yacht race on Saturday.

NZ-born Steward Adrianne Wishart said SY Encore in its debut season took the competition seriously with fun at the same time.

“This is Encore’s first regatta having been built and launched in New Zealand.

“The owners of Encore have been coming to Fiji for more than 25 years. We also managed to scoop first Captain on shore and Best Dressed Male. We are looking forward to the next race,” she said.

She said they have six crew members on board, which are both Kiwi and Australians, who had been on board the previous ‘SY Eclipse’.

MCYC manager Sophie Daveta said the-six day event was not only being competitive but should be a fun-filled activity.

She said the Fiji Water sponsored Round Malolo classic sailing race was competitive but what was paramount was meet and socialiase.

“This is the signature event at Musket Regatta since 1984 where mono hull and double hull boats compete for the top honours.”

The competition ends tomorrow.
