Republic of the Fiji Military Forces retained their cricket title after defeating Police at Buckhurst Ground yesterday.

RFMF captain Jikoi Kida said their main was to retain the title this year.

“I thank the boys for the great game. They have been training for the past weeks and we didn’t take the game lightly because this is the challenge between the two forces, so we had to do our best,” Jikoi Kida said.

RFMF recorded their third  win in a row against Police .

Police were all out for 48 runs while Army settled for 51 runs.

Volleyball

The soldiers from Delainabua won the men’s volleyball after a close three set to two against Police at the National Netball Centre at Laucal Bay yesterday.

Police Wives dominated the women’s volleyball tournament. Polive Wives team leader Jamaina Gucake said they selected a strong team during the provincial selection.

They beat Army Wives. The Police Service team, won the netball final 37 points to 22 over the Army Service team.

Meanwhile, the Ratu Sukuna Bowl rugby challenge between Police and RFMF kicks off at 4pm at the ANZ Stadium today.
