Penioni Tagituimua is one of the three students selected to receive a full rugby scholarships to study for the next three years at Ellesmere College in the United Kingdom.

The 16-year-old Suva Grammar student also plays for the Dee Cees Nadera Panthers in the Fiji National Rugby League Vodafone Cup competition.

“I feel so excited to be given this opportunity to go to the UK and broaden my academic and sporting career,” Tagituimua said.

“I was shocked when I found out I got this scholarship. This will be my first time going overseas and I am so nervous.  I know I will be getting the best education there and I am taking Economics and Maths because I hope to be an accountant.”

His dad, Ilaitia Tagituimua believes this is an opportunity given by God.

Penioni, Kelemete Namalumu (Marist Brothers High School) and Turaga Nabetelevu (Nasinu Secondary School) were selected with the assistance of Rah Rah Rugby agent Steve Charmley and Tevita Korosaya.

Outside college life, the boys will link up with local team Oswestry Rugby Club’s Under-18 senior colts team.
