The Fijian International Is Ready, Are You?

The countdown is on with the Fijian International just a month away!

Since the final putt was sunk at the inaugural tournament last August, plans for the 2015 Fijian International were being put in place.

Work was busily being done and now the finishing touches are being added to ensure this year’s tournament is bigger and better!

The course is ready

One of the star attractions of the Fijian International is the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course which according to tournament director, Andrew Langford-Jones is one of the most beautiful in the world.

“In all my time in golf, 25 years in this position, I have never seen a more beautiful 18 holes of golf,” said Langford-Jones.

That’s high praise from a man who each year works on some of the most revered and iconic golf courses in the world like the Augusta National for the US Masters and this year the Old Course at St Andrews for The Open.

An expert in managing golf tournaments, Langford-Jones is impressed with how the course is developing for the Fijian International.

“The course has had a little bit of extra sunlight this year and more time to come out of the winter months, so the course conditioning will be even better than we saw last year,” added Langford-Jones.

“The course superintendant Steve Lalor is an expert in being able to produce tournament golf courses so the course will be just perfect.”

The players are ready

American Matt Kuchar who is the 14th highest ranked golfer in the world will be the headline act at the Fijian International this year, but there are plenty of other highly talented players on display.

While entries for the tournament are still open, and another key announcement is due in the coming weeks, here is a snap shot of the field so far;

q Players from 11 different countries have entered

q Five players have won titles on the PGA Tour of Australasia or OneAsia in 2015

q Among the field players have won 63 titles on the PGA Tour of Australasia

q Amongst the field are players who have also won titles on the PGA Tour, European Tour, European Seniors Tour, European Challenge Tour, Tour, Japan Golf Tour and PGA TOUR China

The corporate hospitality is ready

Fiji is renowned for its beautiful weather, pristine beaches and friendly people and since the launch of the inaugural Fijian International you can add golf to that list.

The Fijian International loudly announced the nation’s arrival onto the world golf stage and the corporate hospitality at this year’s event showcases the best of all Fiji’s key attributes.

The Natadola Beach Oasis is the ultimate destination on course as luxurious day beds afford the best view of the stunning par-3 4th hole whilst allowing golf fans the chance to relax on the beach whilst sipping champagne.

Having heard just how great it will be, don’t be surprised if you see a few Fijian rugby’s best players and national 7s coach Ben Ryan stopping in for a look at the golf at the Natadola Beach Oasis.

The entertainment is ready

The Fijian International is about more than just the golf with fun for the whole family on site at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.

Leave the kids in the Junior Zone where they can learn how to play golf using kid-friendly golf equipment or they can have fun on the jumping castle and have their face painted.

Come hang out in the tournament village and enjoy a drink and lunch with friends while soaking in the atmosphere of one of the biggest Fijian sporting events.

Be a celebrity spotter and get a selfie with the players after they finish playing golf or keep your eyes peeled for the Fijian rugby players who will be enjoying their day out at the Fijian International.

Or if a party is more your style, join us for the official gala dinner to launch the Fijian International on Tuesday, October 13, at the InterContinental.
