7s Stars Encourage Healthy Breakfast

Vodafone Fijian 7s skipper Osea Kolinisau and teammate, Emosi Mulevoro, yesterday encouraged parents to serve a wholesome and nutritious breakfast to their children daily.
The rugby stars were at Naselai Village in Tailevu yesterday where CJ Patel Group launched its ‘Better Brekkie with Weet-Bix’ programme to promote healthy living.
Children and villagers were served breakfast with Weet-Bix and Rewa Life Milk.
This is part of the CJ Patel village programme, which will be taken to other villages throughout the country in the coming weeks.
Mr Kolinisau urged parents to ensure that they serve their children healthy breakfast everyday.
“Children before going to school needs to eat a healthy breakfast like Weet-Bix to keep them going throughout the day,” he said.
“If you have breakfast, you will have more energy, concentrate better and stay alert in your classroom and your grades may improve.”
He informed the children that when the 7s team prepare and play in tournaments, they mostly indulge in cereals and Weet-Bix to keep them active and healthy.
CJ Patel marketing manager Emily Mani said they would visit villages to promote ‘Better Brekkie with Weet-Bix’ to ensure that people had healthy breakfast daily.
“It is very important for children to have breakfast everyday and Weet-Bix contains 97 per cent of wholegrain which guarantee’s good health,” she said.
“Sometimes people rush and skip their breakfast, but with easy meals like Weet-Bix, you can easily have two of it to kick-start your day without much effort.
“Wholegrain reduces the risk of cancer and high blood pressure, thus Weet-Bix is a good way to start your day.
“We also want parents to ensure that children have breakfast before they go to school or even if they are home and it will be better if parents have breakfast with their children,” she said.
