The Vodafone Flying Fijians was tamed by England at Twickenham 35-11 early this morning in the 2015 Rugby World Cup opener.

Even though luck was not on our side the John McKee put up a gallant performance in the first half. The highlight of the game was Volavola’s cross-field kick put a back-pedalling Anthony Watson up against the man mountain Nemani Nadolo. Inevitably, the Crusaders wing won the aerial battle to score Fiji’s first try.

The Fijian’s aggression at the breakdown earned Nadolo another penalty attempt which he failed to convert. Volavola resumed the kicking duties and was successful with a penalty to close the gap at half time as England led 18-11.

England with so much depth maintains their dominance in the second half and came away from their Rugby World Cup opener with a bonus 35-11 win over the Fijians.

Nadolo tweeted after the game, “Really guttered bout the result sorry to our fans n loved ones for not delivering 2nite.. alot of postive to take out from that. Love u all.”
