Arieta Katia Niuvusa said yesterday perseverance  and hard work helped her graduate.

She received her two certificates in  “Demonstrate Knowledge of Flowering Plants and Foliage in Forestry”.

Ms Niuvusa said she had to juggle her studies with work shifts at the Sentai Seafood Restaurant. She is originally from Ketei village,Totoya in Lau

“I feel proud because I have been waiting to receive these certificates for so long,” she said.

“It was quiet different but what I realised after taking this course is that I can apply now to any hotel on Denarau Island for flower arrangement,” she said.

“It felt good taking the course because we had been divided into groups and had the chance to go out for practical and even though I was the youngest out of the rest of the students who were 60 to 40 years of age, I found it interesting.”

She said she hoped to further her studies.

“Maybe next year I will further my studies because at the moment I’m doing private studies and the fees are a bit expensive,” she said.
