Ba Golfers Prasads Reign In Two-Men Ambrose

Vinesh and Rajend Prasad were crowned winners yesterday of the Tiffany of Canada sponsored Two-men Ambrose at the Ba Golf Club (BGC).
The competition was a pre-Ba Open Champion that kicks off next weekend.
The duo won on a count-back from team of Sanjay Krishna and Mohammed Sherif who also shot 60 nett.
In third place were father and son combination, Abid Hussain and youngster Barroon Hussain from Nadi Airport Golf Club.
BGC captain Sanjay Krishna said the one-day event attracted 62 gofers ,which was an impressive outing.
“There was a good mix of competition in the field, it was a tough day with the weather on our side,” he said.
“This competition has boosted all the golfers and we thank the sponsors Mahendra Gopal who being part of this event with prizes valued at $2000.”
Krishna said the course was in good shape and was ready to host the 45th RC Manubhai-sponsored Ba Open Championship, which started this week.
“About 110 golfers including both amateurs and professional are expected to converge in Ba,” he said.
Meanwhile, professional golfer Vikrant Chandra still holds the 18 holes course record of five under par 64, which he carded in 2010.
The Ba Open Championship record over 36 holes is even par 138 set by former world number one, Vijay Singh, achieving such a feat back in 1981.
“The event has a long history and we are looking forward to some new record to be played out in the field,” he said.
