The Assistant Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Lorna Eden, has described the FijiFirst Government as `a can do Government’.

“We believe in positive change,” she said.

“We don’t just talk – we actually deliver.”

She said under the Constitution all were equal and they encouraged every citizen to stand tall and say: “I am proud to be Fijian.”

She said under the able leadership of Praveen Kumar, the right to housing under the Constitution was being facilitated by the Government through various programmes implemented by the ministry with a significant Government funding of $27 million

She said Government – through various initiatives for homeowners – had assisted the Fijian people through the Housing Authority.

These schemes include interest subsidies, squatter relocation grants, loan guarantees, concessional loans negotiations, social housing schemes and the latest housing assistance grants.
